Codes of Conduct

Clan Nova Cat is dedicated to the following goals and ideals: fair play, brotherhood, and doing what we can to make the game enjoyable for everyone. We strive to remain courteous and restrained at all times. We frown on vulgarity and abhor "trash-talking" and accusations. We insist on respect toward other players from our members, and we request the same from people in our games. We hold these principles true on game servers, forums, and voice communications whether they are sanctioned by us or not.

In BattleTech lore, the Clans were obsessed with Honor, while the Inner Sphere Houses were more obsessed with victory at any cost. That philosophy carries into this League, and most especially, Clan Nova Cat. Honor and character are highly prized here, and dishonorable words or actions may lead to immediate dismissal. We take a great deal of pride in striving to be the most honorable Clan in NBT, and we will settle for no less from our members. Hence, the following Code is to be strictly adhered to by everyone in the Clan, regardless of rank.

The purpose of online gaming is, first and foremost, to have fun. Competition is a big part of that fun, but not at the expense of good sportsmanship. Play fair, play with honor, and try to play with a little class.

Be gracious in victory and courteous in defeat. Friendly banter is acceptable, but "trash-talking" is not.

Cheating or hacking in any form is expressly forbidden, and is grounds for immediate dismissal. Do not exploit any known bugs.

Help your teammates, your opponents, and especially the newer players enjoy the game too. Take time to explain how things work to the "newbies", and what they can expect. Be patient with their mistakes and any unsportsmanlike conduct.

Avoid any criticism of another player's abilities or connection.

Be polite to teammates and opponents alike. Avoid inflammatory and accusatory remarks toward opponents.

Thou shalt not join any other Unit in the NBT League, under any circumstances.

Conduct Unbecoming

Avoid any behavior that could be considered detrimental to the best interests of Clan Nova Cat and your fellow clansmen, or that will reflect badly on the Clan.

We believe Brotherhood is nourishment for the soul.

We believe Victory, while sweet, is not the Prize; rather, the Prize is the Journey.

We believe Words are expressed thought, not weapons.

We believe A hand up to the vanquished is better than a slap down.

We believe Honor is more important than Winning.
